This is my first blog posting. I've decided to start a blog because I want to make millions of dollars out of it!!! Why not? Paul Tan is doing well (he's my former classmate from VI apparently). Jeff Ooi got himself elected as an MP. So did Hannah Yeoh. Let's not even talk about Raja Petra. If you check the list in Alexa.com, you'd see that Malaysia-Today is among the most popular websites in Malaysia!!! It's insane how many people read his blog postings each day. Even I'm a huge fan of the site, for reasons best not disclosed:)
But seriously, I am doing this because I feel like sharing. I feel like sharing my thoughts, my feelings, and my random observations on life. I don't expect anybody to be reading my blog. I just want to blog. It'll help if I could make money out of it though:)
ANyway....just one day left to "D-Day' in Haig Road. Come 8 am, August 15th, Friday, my humble abode, my home, my flat in Singapore will be filled with dust, dirt and workmen. In case you're wondering why, our flat is undergoing some major upgrading work. So tomorrow, they're going to break down our existing toilets and provide us with spanking new ones within 10 days.
I really don't get it. What's wrong with the existing toilets you might ask? NOTHING~~ I'm perfectly happy with the way things were. Why must they decide to invade our flats, break down our walls, and put us through the misery of literally living in a warzone for 10 days!!
Good thing i'm heading back to KL for the weekend. We're playing a show in Desa Sri Hartamas at a place called 'Groove Junction'. This show is particularly special. It's almost like a homecoming of sorts for us. We dont' play in KL much. Our shows have brought us to Penang, Miri, Kuantan, Ipoh, Shah Alam, etc...but seldom to KL. I'm really looking forward to it. We're playing a chillout set of songs from our album, plus a few covers. The best part of it all, I get to have my parents around for this show:) I hope that my dad will enjoy the set. He's really the main motivation for me to want to play well this weekend. If he can't see me, I hope at least, he can listen to me play.
It's been 8 long months since he lost his eye-sight. Call me stupid. But i'm still waiting for the miracle to happen. I really miss the days when my dad would spend all his time at home fixing his car, changing the light bulbs, playing the guitar, and mowing the lawn. I still find it difficult to accept that he's blind. But the way in which he picked himself up is nothing short of amazing. He's currently learning how to use the computer. I challenge anybody to use a computer without a mouse. I am almost certain that nobody would be better than him. Yes, my dad, the blindman is better at the computer than most people that I know. In many ways, my dad is the strongest person that I have ever known. I wish that I could be half as strong as him. But most of all, I wish that a miracle would happen. Let my dad see again. I pray every day without fail. I'm willing to give up anything just to have him see again...
